What's the role about?

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will serve as the core backend specialist for a sustainable apparel and retail brand, taking full ownership of backend architecture, internal tooling, and critical third-party integrations. You will work closely with a small, collaborative engineering team to ensure the reliability and performance of e-commerce, retail, and logistics systems—particularly across a Shopify-centric ecosystem during high-traffic periods. From architecting robust API connections to proactively troubleshooting and maintaining platform stability, you will leverage strong engineering fundamentals to deliver immediate, high-visibility impact across the entire operational pipeline.

What do we require from you?

• 6+ years of solid and proven experience as a software engineer, with a strong focus on backend development.

• Strong proficiency and experience in Ruby on Rails, OR equivalent deep experience in Python using frameworks like Flask or Django.

• Hands-on experience working with third-party API integrations and Shopify APIs.

• Solid background working with standard databases such as MySQL.

• Familiarity with standard frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to maintain and adjust internal tools, without needing to be a frontend expert.

• Strong analytical capacity and debugging skills to proactively solve technical problems and collaborate on solutions via shared communication channels.

• Strong technical fundamentals with a low reliance on Artificial Intelligence tools; AI should be used strictly to enhance development velocity, not as a dependency to operate
